Why Aren’t YOU Angrier?

I don’t understand it.

Watch this, please!

We now know WHAT they did, HOW they did it, and of course WHY……and yet people are still arguing about the most illegitimate issues, while people CONTINUE to pay for what has to be considered one of the most heinous non-violent (though not victimless by any measure) criminal acts in recorded history.

How can YOU not be furious?

Do YOU not agree about the facts? Do YOU think that what happened is some accident? Are YOU so afraid that your precious ideas of “free markets”, (no such thing, only protection of monopolistic markets by government), will be refuted (when even Greenspan himself has admitted that he was wrong), and that there will HAVE to be regulation in order for these things to function correctly, and that will mean you were WRONG!?!?

Is that why you’re not MADDENED by what is going on?

Is it just a right -wing idea that ANY government involvement in ANYTHING is somehow “BAD”?

What the hell?

Again, we’re seeing the effects, we’re all feeling them as well and MANY people’s lives are being absolutely destroyed, (in many cases even lost) by these scum, and yet still we don’t have even the most basic official responses to this thing that even a child would suggest. And no one is SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER ABOUT THIS!!

AND…..the same people that engineered this fiasco, profited from it, and made sure that the one person who COULD have done something about it was hamstrung, those same people are STILL in power, and in some cases are even more powerful, richer and closer to the decision making center than they were BEFORE?!?!??

And you think that Obama is your friend?

It’s completely insane.

Watch this, please!
Really WATCH it, and research it if you don’t believe the information reported. You will see how the people that tried to stop this thing were stifled and pushed out of the process, which led to what we have now.

You will see the same players being rewarded, and the same players continuing to run the GAME?!?!?!?

It’s insanity, how can YOU continue to sit still for it?

I think Greenspan is getting senile, today he said that you can stop asset bubbles by increasing capital requirements. That just increases the cost of credit. The next time you have a real estate bubble, you’ll have the same problem, assuming that banks are still in the business of loaning against real estate. If you want to stop this problem, then eliminate the federal subsidies for real estate development and investment, then require people in that industry to put their own money at risk instead of someone elses. If Greenspan really wants to change the banking system, though, then simply ban 95% and 90% LTV loans. Require a bigger equity cushion. BTW, the “too big to fail” argument is a fallacious one. During the Great Depression, Canada had no bank failures. The reason was that their banks were very large. The banks closed branches, etc., but none of them failed. By contrast, the US was dominated by thousands of very small banks, and we had more than 10,000 of them fail. So there is nothing inherently unsafe about a banking system dominated by large banks. The real problem with large banks is that during good times, they don’t provide enough competition for each other.

It’s surprising now (two years after the collapse) how many people actually DID see it coming and tried to stop it. An internationa banker named Peter Schiff was regularly on Fox News being hooted at and laughed at as he predicted every step in the process of the collapse. You don’t see him on Fox News anymore.

What is even more frustrating than the actual collapse is the continuing denial of it.

More frustrating still is that everyone tries to make it a partisan issue instead of just accepting that both parties have their fingerprings all over the collapse.

Most frustrating of all is that people (like Suze Orman for example) can be so wrong, be so thoroughly proven wrong, fail to either admit to being wrong OR to apologize, and lose no credibility.

I suspect you’ve already read it, but I strongly recommend a book called “Griftopia.”

Another marvelous book that is only obliquely “on subject,” but helps to explain the “ignorance as a choice” mentality is “What’s The Matter With Kansas.”
