There is really no response to ignorant ranting that will do more damage to the ranter than just to post his/her rants for all to see.

I think the best possible "commercial for a Democrat" would be to find rabid, simple minded, conservative people and interview them and show it on the news. The best possible "commercial for a Republican" would be to find similarly rabid, simple minded liberals and interview THEM and treat it as news.

Bill Maher's religiousity movie is hilarious. But it would have been even more effective if Maher had simply "let the simple minded religious folks (not all religous people are simple minded btw) speak for themselves without arguing with them.

The endorsement of a known fool is worth exactly what the opposition of a known wise man is worth. The opposition of a known fool is worth exactly what the endorsement of a known wise man is.

"Known wise men" are harder to find than "known fools." It's all about supply and demand. There is a supply of fools, and a shortage of wise men. :O)

It's surprising now (two years after the collapse) how many people actually DID see it coming and tried to stop it. An internationa banker named Peter Schiff was regularly on Fox News being hooted at and laughed at as he predicted every step in the process of the collapse. You don't see him on Fox News anymore.

What is even more frustrating than the actual collapse is the continuing denial of it.

More frustrating still is that everyone tries to make it a partisan issue instead of just accepting that both parties have their fingerprings all over the collapse.

Most frustrating of all is that people (like Suze Orman for example) can be so wrong, be so thoroughly proven wrong, fail to either admit to being wrong OR to apologize, and lose no credibility.

I suspect you've already read it, but I strongly recommend a book called "Griftopia."

Another marvelous book that is only obliquely "on subject," but helps to explain the "ignorance as a choice" mentality is "What's The Matter With Kansas."

I think Greenspan is getting senile, today he said that you can stop asset bubbles by increasing capital requirements. That just increases the cost of credit. The next time you have a real estate bubble, you'll have the same problem, assuming that banks are still in the business of loaning against real estate. If you want to stop this problem, then eliminate the federal subsidies for real estate development and investment, then require people in that industry to put their own money at risk instead of someone elses. If Greenspan really wants to change the banking system, though, then simply ban 95% and 90% LTV loans. Require a bigger equity cushion. BTW, the "too big to fail" argument is a fallacious one. During the Great Depression, Canada had no bank failures. The reason was that their banks were very large. The banks closed branches, etc., but none of them failed. By contrast, the US was dominated by thousands of very small banks, and we had more than 10,000 of them fail. So there is nothing inherently unsafe about a banking system dominated by large banks. The real problem with large banks is that during good times, they don't provide enough competition for each other.

lol, I've no comment.

I mean it's not that I've nothing to say, but what could I say that would trump ignorance (every word would just be ignored).

Well, I do have one statement though, over this:

"ther’es no such thing as a global agenda
even if you own a prius"

lol, there's always a global agenda, regardless if it's spoken or not, every human on this planet aims for perfection, they want things to be better.

Now some people may have different ideals in what exactly "better" means, but regardless we're all striving for that.

So if anything, that's our global agenda (despite how unorganized it may be).
